Los capítulos 4s contrastan abiertamente con los tres capítulos anteriores. El esquema juicio-sentencia-castigo desaparece aquí para dar paso a una serie de promesas sobre la liberación.
Estos dos capítulos son problemáticos, porque no parecen palabras de una misma persona; da la impresión de que, a cada mensaje, alguien refuta a Miqueas. Véase, por ejemplo, 4,1-4: la idea es que todos los pueblos vendrán un día a Jerusalén, y allí, sin tensiones ni actitudes bélicas, estarán todos bajo el amparo y la protección de un mismo Dios y Señor. Pero en 4,5 alguien dice: «Todos los pueblos caminan invocando a su dios, nosotros caminamos invocando siempre al Señor, nuestro Dios». ¿Disputa con los falsos profetas? ¿Adición posterior de la corriente contraria al universalismo de Dios? Las opiniones se dividen aquí. El hecho es que este fenómeno se repite varias veces en el par de capítulos. En los lugares donde se sigue el esquema de «lectura comunitaria de la Biblia» sería bueno leer estos capítulos en clave de un diálogo implícito: alguien puede leer los pasajes marcados en esta Biblia, con la letra M (Miqueas) y otro, los pasajes marcados con la letra F (Falsos profetas), para ver si se puede concluir dónde puede estar más clara la fidelidad al mensaje de Dios, en Miqueas o en sus interlocutores.
