Este salmo, con escasas y ligeras variantes, es una repetición del salmo 14 a cuyo comentario remito. El terror tiene una motivación en Sal_14:5; en éste se dice lapidariamente: «sin razón para aterrarse» (6). La dispersión del sitiador y su derrota son consecuencia del rechazo divino (6); en el Sal_14:6 se habla tan sólo de bochorno porque Dios es el refugio de los humildes.
