Salmos 3,1-8
Psalm III.
The securitie of Gods protection.
[ 2Sa_15:15.] A Psalme of Dauid when he fled from Absalom his sonne.
1 Lord, how are they increased that trouble mee? many are they that rise vp against me.
2 Many there bee which say of my soule, There is no helpe for him in God. Selah.
[Patience in trouble.]
3 But thou, O Lord, art a shield [ Or, about.] for me; my glory, and the lifter vp of mine head.
4 I cryed vnto the Lord with my voyce, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.
5 [ Psa_4:9.] I layd me downe and slept; I awaked, for the Lord sustained me.
6 [ Psa_27:3.] I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that haue set themselues against me round about.
7 Arise, O Lord, saue mee, O my God; for thou hast smitten all mine enemies vpon the cheeke bone: thou hast broken the teeth of the vngodly.
8 [ Isa_43:11; Hos_13:4.] Saluation belongeth vnto the Lord: thy blessing is vpon thy people. Selah.
